First of all, thank you for producing this movie. The
quality of the film is outstanding and conveys the message well. This film
has made me think alot about psychedelic drug use and the psygoa
movement. However, I'm a Christian (age 21 in Europe) and this film has shown me that I don't want to follow this Psygoa movement, if this is what
it's about. If you‘re wondering, I‘ve taken psychedelic drugs and have
fully experienced the message of the movie. However, I wonder if it‘s an
illusion. To me, this movement fits into New Age religions. For
example: We‘re all one, we can melt into the universe and be god like. Our
unity and love with nature will bring fulfillment. We are nature, let‘s
explore it, et cetera. I can relate to these things, since I‘ve
experienced them, but as a Christian, this doesn‘t seem alright to me. Where
is the mention of Jesus/God/Holy Spirit? Aren‘t these psychedelic
voyages illusions? Deceptions? I know it‘s fun to take these journeys !
to out-of-state minds, but long term, I‘m afraid these principles will
lead to destruction, confusion and detachment from reality. After the

understanding for what is all about by going to the goa-party. Most people
assocciate it only with drug consuming and dancing but there is just
that huge bit more, the culture, the art, the way of living which are

Dr. Papa: Great initiative! An excellent psychedelic journey! I really
enjoyed the first 20-30 mins, which was a very intense psychedelic
experience. The Angkor Vat-scenery, the Shpongle-tracks, the dancing
girl
and the stunning visuals - it was breathtaking. The rest of the movie
was entertaining, at best. However, the production is not what you'd
expect from a quality-dvd release. There are some minor annoyances,
e.g.
the lack of subtitles. It was hard for me to pick up some of the words
of wisdom (especially from Raja Ram - what a character!) while
concentrating on the great visuals and music. Also, a scene-index would
be
nice, since there were parts i don't feel like watching over and over.
Apart from that, I really look forward to future-releases of this kind.

I have just seen the entire film, so here is my "knee-jerk":
Can't tell you how many loose strings of my own thoughts of the last
decade have been now woven together into a fabric I now begin to recognize
again. A couple circuit parties..a few faierie gatherings..a few raves..a
couple Burning Man's..and even more local retreats between
Seattle and the Big Island of Hawaii. And that nothing is any more or
less important - it's all on the same level. Unity erases all the garbage
we've had fist-fed to us by our "teachers". Thru out the film,
I heard many, many reverberations of the challenges we two dimensional
humans seem to be burdened with. All on the path that it's all divisible
down to 1. And I mean the "ONE!" This is will throw off the
veil of conciousness to those willing to embrace it and I will be sharing
this with those I see as needing a wakeup call. A tough call for most
of our anesthetized and compromised society. And share it with a few
who may have lost the edge a little (including me!!). In closing...I
look forward to being a more astute student in the next act of my life.
And the lessons the several real teachers have to offer me. What a journey
you guided us through!! My heart will be open for quite a bit longer
after this round of self-introspection. So find my order for 6 DVD's
(Holiday gifts to hand out). It was stark..brilliant..humbling..existential..lush..somatic..
I'm left with a resontating phrase: "..all this apparent diversity.."

Liquid Crystal Vision is an unique kind of multimedia
experience and a good reminder of the ideas behind the goa "movement".
It consists essentially of footages mixed with computer-generated 3D
"psychedelic" visuals which are extremly well made and not
"cheesy" at all. Also, instead of having 3D as the main focus,
which can get boring after a while, the computer animations usually
act more like an additional layer which follows the movie and makes
it psychedelic!
In addition to that, there is, of course, the
music (made by some of the best goa musicians like Shpongle) and the
exclusive interviews featuring System 7, Raja Ram, Goa Gil, Youth, Swami,
Alex Grey and others, all very interesting, especially for those interested
in consciousness and psychedelics. Just like for 3D, the interviews
are almost always mixed with the footages, which often results in 3
layers of visuals on the screen and, surprisingly, it doesn't look too
messy.
A part of the interviews is dedicated to the
"role" of music and visuals and will surely interests VJs
looking for inspiration. Ideas like language of creation, sensory experience,
understandable package, music visualization, mystical frequencies will
provide good food for thoughts for what the future of "VJing"
(in the broad sense of the word) may look like, working eventually as
a role of unification between image, sound and other senses (as we can
already see with "VJs" experimenting with sensors, body movement,
etc.)
The exclusive film footages have been taken all
around the world, in India, UK, Portugal, Cambodia, Lao, Himalaya and
of course at the famed Burning Man festival. Dancers, fire breathers
and mystics can be seen all the time, as well as some beautiful landscapes
which are really well filmed. It sometimes reminds of Baraka although
Liquid Crystal Vision is a lot less static. It is more concerned by
movement.
This is also the first "documentary"
I have ever seen which didn't bore me at one point or another. The whole
one hour and an half flows right in the brain thanks to the perfect
mix between images and sound. Interviews never really cut this flow
either. Instead, the interview video is merged with psychedelic visuals
and images of people dancing and the voice continues in rhythm with
the goa music in the background. A reviewer at the back of the DVD compares
this to being "lifted up as on a wave and carried". A possibly
interesting application of "VJing"?
Anyway no matter how you look at it, this is
a fantastic movie and no one should miss it. The DVD or VHS can be ordered
from the website and it can even be viewed online if you can't wait
anymore ;)

Hi ya! Simply amazing, I've watched the film in a festival of music
techno in Paris and i have been absolutely impressed. You have got to
made feel so many different feelings while watching the film. I
enjoyed with the whole fim in spite of having some problems withe the
language, I can tell you that during some moments of the film i have
cried of emotion because you have could shown how the felling of the
party is by sensibilazing the spectator with the music and the images,
my bigest emotion came while watching the images of people dancing in
Goa and the images of the Reclaim the streets and all the others movements
subersives, you have expressed with your work the spirit of a movement

I i understand what u put inside, the mystical connections between
trance and the psychedelic world, with all this psychedelic people talking
about mystical sound experience, and sometime speaking with exactly
the same word to explain the vibration of sound like radio frequency
and u can switch.......whoa what an amazing work u had done....And if
in germany u’d told me that u spend two years of travelling, collecting
all this Divine Moments of Truth, for shure i ask u lot of little things
about this moments spent with some of the most interesting psychedelic
guys of this time... i had some powerfull psychedelics experience and
some bad and really bad too, but i’m shure that i learn every time
every moments and now back to my home i feel like Dead and Born again,
and we don’t speak so much about psychedelic experience together
but i feel some really good energy the few times we speak together,
and now i see some of your work and i feel like i’m not alone in
this psychedelic world. i know we are many but i never cross a lot of
people like us, in France and Paris all the people try to hide there
psychedlic energy so...Now after 10 years of trying to make trance music

Boom Festival! You blew me away, definitely the higlight of the psinema.
I'd recomend that film to anyone who is interested in
psycadelia and likes trance. Its also good to see people creating media
for the love and passion of an idea and not wholely aimed at commercial

I sincerely want to kiss your budds for what great job you did with
this movie! It was flabbergasting me even after watching it 3 times
now! One comment on the quality though: I purchased my DVD-copy at the
Booom2002 festival. My DVD-player doesn't play the film fluently since
it is not properly put to DVD-supported quality. When I watch it on
my Pentium-4 notebook it plays beautifully fluent, but in the normal
DVD-player it comes out in lower framerate. Please make it totally DVD-supported
quality when there will be a 2nd stock. This film is worth good quality!

Just got back from the Phoenix Festival in Washington and man o man
was that sweet! The place was huge. It was well over 40
acres. So many creative endeavors. I was hanging out most of the time
in the visuals tent, so I watched a lot of Dr. Spook's performance.
He was doing some amazing visuals, so fluid and trancedelic.. He also
showed some interesting uses for an old projector lens ;) P.S. I checked
out the LCV video, and that was awesome, hope to see more from you guys

I live in Vancouver, British Columbia. Last night I watched Liquid Crystal
Vision at a great friend's place in Seattle, Washington. Little did
we expect, I was shown in the video a number of times from
the Solipse footage. I wanted to cry I was so happy. I had the best
time of my life at this festival. I travelled very far to get to the
Solipse and rightfully so then, felt a very special part of it. Never
before had I experienced a gathering of this magnitude, not to mention
the eclipse itself. Being there CONFIRMED for me who I was and that
I was on the right path. Prior to the Solipse, my travels of a year
in Australia began me on my path and helped shape who I was to become.
After the Solipse, my travels of half a year in India humbled me. Then
there was Burning Man, after India.... which was just an amazing experience
as well as a great party!!! So, you see then, this creation of Liquid
Crystal Vision and all that was put forth within it was extremely meaningful
to me. I am honoured to see myself in it. Thank you all so much for
creating this for so many people to see and be inspired from. It is
a reminder of what we all are an important part of..... a huge movement
towards peace and harmony within and all around us forever. Jennifer

I am watching Liquid Crystal, courtesy of a student, Igor. I run the
Global Consciousness Project, which has a tapestry of data from 1998
and continuing, in which there is a subtle structure that reflects great
mind in the world. I think there may be music to manifest, but it will

Liquid Crystal Vision is a movie, and a good one.
Taking the form of a psychedelic documentary, it highlights the musical
and spiritual sides of the psychedelic scene, taking in producers, parties
video artists and general post-modern global hippies, all wrapped up
in an enjoyable technicolour trip. There’s plenty of trippy graphics,
the music (featuring Shpongle, Doof, Space Tribe, Banco de Gaia and
a bonus feature of Atmos live in Japan) is spot on, and there are enough
birds dancing in front of fractals, outdoor party dawn sets, and Himalayan
yogis waxing lyrical (really) to keep everyone happy. Interviews include
System 7, Greg Sams ("enjoy it, and be thankful for it") Goa
Gil ("it’s like the sixties all over again") and Raja
Ram ("Goa [the place] has become fetid, like a cheese that’s
been left in the cupboard too long"). Featuring footage from Burning
Man, Boom!, Glastonbury, Solipse and Stonehenge it’s indispensable
not just as a document of the scene and its development, but as a reminder
of what makes it special. It’s easy to forget the spiritual, mystical,
freethinking side to this music and its parties, and if you’re
after a quick dose to remind you about that cheeky benevolence in the

Totally love the movie - and I mean totally - so fucking cool, how many
years have I been waiting for something like that - really sound, especially
the greg sams stuff (i hadn't been aware of any connection between Uncommon
Sense and the trance scene!) and Raja Ram, the yogi's... holy crap,
it's amazing. Really, really amazing. I believe, truly, that in 50 years
time they'll be studying your movie in history class. It's a wonderful
gesture of permanence that wouldn't work with other music scenes - really,

WOW! What a great film. Totally inspiring! Sums up the essence of trance
culture - it's spiritual, social and emotional imperative. You'll all

grey, goa gill, etc. It inspired me to remain true to myself and follow
my dreams. And it does a beautiful job of articulating what we are always
saying about the music - that it is the shape of consciousness...the
language of creation - the same shapes that are found throughout nature
- in flowers, fractyls, crystals, vulvas and artichokes. even snow fucking
flakes. the sound of the true trance is in that shape too - and surely,
it stimulates the brain to resonate along the pattern of creative life
force...as a paino strings resonate with the vibrations of a pitch fork...our
brains resonate with trance inducing sound that is patterned on the
infinite shape of the life force itself.

Spook, TantricDemon, Rogue, Ocelot, Rob Rayle, et al, all outdid yourselves!
This plays so well just by itself, and it can also play as a visual
backdrop better than most psy videos.

that's going on in my mind! This movie is incredible because this can
be used as a tool to explain to other people what's really worth doing
in this world. We must evolve as human beings, and to do that such movies

I also work with film & video, and am active in this whole scene
that you documented well... Often wondered how to record it & document
it myself and make a piece of art that captures a little bit of that
energy, but it's difficult, right? Being at a psy-trance party ain't
the same as watching it on TV! And trying to summarise the psychedelic
experience in this manner is also frought with difficulties!! Ah, well,

Wow. That's all I can say. I got married at Burning Man the same year
that you did much of your filming there... we jumped through that ring
of fire you showed, just as it was about to collapse.. we admired those
same fire dancers... it was so amazing to see it all on film, matched
